Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP)

What is a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP)?  

The submission of a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) will often be required to discharge a planning condition which has been attached to a developments conditional planning consent and can be required for both commercial and residential developments.

The CEMP will need approved by the local planning authority prior to any works commencing on site and will include details regarding the management of the site including:

  • Estimated vehicle types and quantities.

  • Details of community liaison.

  • Construction vehicle site access and egress routes.

  • The parking of vehicles of site operatives and visitors.

  • The loading and unloading of plant and materials.

  • Storage of plant and materials used in constructing the development.

  • The erection and maintenance of security hoarding.

  • Wheel washing facilities.

  • Commitment to sign up to the considerate Constructors scheme (CCS).

  • Details of compliance with the requirements for Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM).
